I met David in 2006 when he was still a blue belt. His family has been training Martial Arts for a long time and when his father Bruce invited me for the first time, at first, I was surprised that I was there to teach not the students, but his wife and kids instead.
It didn't take long for us to become very close friends and build a family like relationship.
Big D, as we call him, has amazing skills as a Martial Artist both as a teacher and competitor. He has also an incredible memory and remembers techniques we worked many years ago with so many details that sometimes he shows me stuff I didn't even remember about.
David didn't get his black belt from me. Nevertheless, I saw his growth from the begining and I feel that I had some influence on his technique. I can say we improved each other's game a lot.
He is today the leader of Progressive Martial Art Academy in Oak Ridge, TN.
